Garland, Texas

Situated just northeast of Dallas, Garland is a large Texas city of 236, 900 people. Garland is an active community and takes pride in entertaining its residents. Arts and culture can be explored at the Granville Arts Center, a large and popular venue that hosts theatre performances, Broadway shows, and symphony concerts. Recreational activities are abundant in Garland. It has two water parks- Surf and Swim and Hawaiian Falls. It is home to Firewheel Golf Park, ranked the second best in the state by Dallas Morning News. The course hosts the Nitro Texas State Open. Supplying Garland with a lot of its recreational fun is Lake Ray Hubbard. Boating, skiing and fishing are all activities enjoyed year-round on the lake. Some of Garland’s best views of the lake can be caught at Harbor Point while enjoying an exceptional meal and beautiful scenery. Garland has over 30 miles of trails, a 12-court tennis center, multiple senior centers, a nature preserve and many recreation facilities. Shopping in Garland is mostly done at Firewheel Town Center that has many retail and department stores, and an AMC movie theater. Shopping is also regularly done at the Bass Pro Shops. Garland’s students are served by Garland ISD, which educates 57,000 students. The district is the second largest in Dallas County and encompasses areas in Rowlett and Sachse as well. Garland is set in a wonderful location and has many local adventures!
